As different as my client base is, they all want the same things and that is, to feel good internally and externally. When we decide to set sometime aside for ourselves and focus on our physical appearance, we tend to want to change our bodies into a more desired look.
So, where do we start? Well first off, nutrition is 75% of where the change must come from. Some of us find it very overwhelming trying to figure out, what is healthy and what is unhealthy. We go to the grocery stores and stand there reading the labels on different canned goods/cereal boxes/cheese/breads/, you name it and still, we find ourselves lost.
Before I really started focusing on my diet, I would live off of pasta/tuna/rice/rice cakes and keep a very low fat diet. What I didn’t understand was that the carbs I was eating, were turning into sugars and what does sugar turn into? Fat…It was a vicious cycle for me. I spent hours doing cardio and never really lifting any weights. I would feel so discouraged and depressed that I would stop eating for days. It was terrible.
When I finally decided that I wanted to change my body, I did nothing but research and I would ask lots of questions from the experts in the fitness industry. Over the years, I realized that wow, with lots of knowledge and support, you can obtain anything you put your mind to.
Nutrition was always the number one factor for losing weight, or gaining size, or just simply, cleaning up your eating habits. Now after 13 years, I’m now trying to help those that are in the same position I was. Trust me, it can be scary and very intimidating, starting a whole new lifestyle, cause basically that’s what you are about to do.
There are so many things to learn about nutrition that it takes a lifetime to really understand it all.
I offer one on one /menu planning/diets for competitors/those that want to lose weight/or gain weight/or just understand what to eat to maintain a healthy lifestyle.
