After my initial meeting with Shawna I decided to give working with a personal trainer a shot and haven't looked back since. "Hi my name is Dan and I’m 56 years old.
I asked Shawna to help me with my training in March 2015. I had been struggling with gaining size and weight and keeping it on. Shawna convinced me to drastically increase my calorie intake. I was reluctant because I wanted to stay as lean as possible. I had found in the past that if my body fat went too high I would always lose my muscle gains trying to lean out. Shawna assured me that if I worked hard enough on the weight training routines she provided and if I ate enough calories of the right foods that I would build mass and stay lean.
When I started training with Shawna I was 165 lbs. and now in August I am 190 lbs. I am very happy with the results. This is well worth the small investment of 1 – 1.5 hrs of lifting 5-6 days a week. I like that Shawna also gave me balance by making sure I was developing my legs and gluteus along with my upper body. This lack of balance is very common at the gym.
My next goal is to break 200 lbs staying lean and I’m sure Shawna can help me get there. Hey, who knows, maybe one day I’ll try a competition. I’m in better shape at 56 than I was in my 30’s. I feel good about myself and at the risk of sounding vein, love it when I can get a second look from ladies who are often younger than I am.
Age truly is just a number if you approach your fitness goals with a well designed program and a little determination and commitment.In closing, I would like to say that the best part about training with Shawna is that she takes great pride and ownership in the progress her clients make. I have had different trainers in the past, however I have never received so much support and attention from any of them. I have seen significant difference in the way I looked and felt after only 2 weeks under Shawna’s eye.
