              STRENGTH TRAINING

 

Strength training is a type of physical exercise specializing in the use of resistance to induce muscular contraction which builds the strength,anaerobic endurance, and size of skeletal muscles. When properly performed, strength training can provide significant functional benefits and improvement in overall health and well-being, including increased bone, muscle, tendon and ligament strength and toughness, improved joint function, reduced potential for injury, increased bone density, increased metabolism, improved cardiac function, and elevated HDL ("good") cholesterol. Training commonly uses the technique of progressively increasing the force output of the muscle through incremental weight increases and uses a variety of exercises and types of equipment to target specific muscle groups. Strength training is primarily an anaerobic activity, although some proponents have adapted it to provide the benefits of aerobic exercise through circuit training.

              WEIGHT LIFTING

Weight lifting is a common type of strength training for developing the strength and size of skeletal muscles. It uses the weight force of gravity (in the form of weighted bars, dumbbells or weight stacks) to oppose the force generated by muscle through concentric oreccentric contraction. Weight training uses a variety of specialized equipment to target specific muscle groups and types of movement.

              CORE STRENGTH

 

Core strength exercises strengthen your core muscles, including your abdominal muscles, back muscles and the muscles around the pelvis. Strong core muscles make it easier to do many physical activities. You can do core strength exercises on a carpeted floor or mat.

              FUNCTIONAL TRAINING

 

Functional training has its origins in rehabilitation. Physical and Occupational therapists often use this approach to retrain patients with movement disorders. Interventions are designed to incorporate task and context specific practice in areas meaningful to each patient, with an overall goal of functional independence.[1] For example, exercises that mimic what patients did at home or work may be included in treatment in order to help them return to their lives or jobs after an injury or surgery. Thus if a patient's job required repeatedly heavy lifting, rehabilitation would be targeted towards heavy lifting, if the patient were a parent of young children, it would be targeted towards moderate lifting and endurance, and if the patient were a marathon runner, training would be targeted towards re-building endurance. However, treatments are designed after careful consideration of the patient’s condition, what he or she would like to achieve, and ensuring goals of treatment are realistic and achievable. Functional training attempts to adapt or develop exercises which allow individuals to perform the activities of daily life more easily and without injuries.

 

In the context of body building, functional training involves mainly weight bearing activities targeted at core muscles of the abdomen and lower back. I am your certified Personal Trainer to direct you with your Functional Training needs.

              NUTRITION COUNSELLING

 

Nutrition is the science that interprets the interaction of nutrients and other substances in food (e.g. phytonutrients, anthocyanins, tannins, etc.) in relation to maintenance, growth, reproduction, health and disease of an organism. It includes food intake, absorption, assimilation, biosynthesis, energy metabolism, catabolism and excretion.

              COMPETION PREP

 

Competition weight training, diet and cardio are the most important pieces of your competition preparation. Your workouts should be tailored for growth, shape and size development. Dieting will help refine your physique and make sure you prioritize your weak points during workouts.

 

Muscle proportion, size and separation should be your main priorities. To get the best definition possible you will need to concentrate on that diet and cardio also. 

 

To prep for competition is no easy task. As a ceritifed Persoal Trainer I can eleviate the added stress and propel you to be a winner!

              WEIGHT MANAGEMENT

 

Weight management is a long-term approach to a healthy lifestyle. It includes a balance of healthy eating and physical exercise to equate energy expenditure and energy intake. Developing healthy eating habits while using tips that will keep us fuller longer can be useful tools in weight management. Knowing what your body needs is important to weight management and can control overconsumption and underconsumption of food.

 

Weight management does not include fad diets that promote quick, temporary weight loss. It focuses on the long-term results that are achieved through slow weight loss, followed by retention of an ideal body weight for age, sex and height.

You don’t have to worry about coming up with what you are going to make or eat, it is already done for you. Easy to follow for success 

 

Training consist of improving your strength, energy levels, losing weight and gaining muscle. We work with weights and mix it up with some circuit training. 

 

Training Program 

I do not believe in taking client’s weight or measurements. I feel that it puts too much pressure on you and makes you feel bad about urself. We both understand why you have come to see me and what we need to focus on. 

 

My style for weight training is very old school. I believe that old school gets you the best results that is why it is called old school training because it has always been the core of weight loss and weight gain. 

 

None of the fads that come and go work nearly as well, as good old weight training. 

Weight training is not about getting big and bulky, it is about toning the muscle developing strength in areas that you didn’t have before. 

 

Losing fat and turning it into muscle. The more muscle you acquire on your body, the more calories you can consume. Don’t be afraid of weight training and the effects it has on your body. 

 

I include cardio in some programs, not the typical 1 hour machine going around and around, no more like circuit training with light weights and 30 minutes of interval running. 

 

I will work with you 1 on 1 in my private training studio and we will focus on keeping you motivated, excited and you will see the results that you want. 

 

Package number two 

Monthly payments if you are choosing to pay month to month 

4 sessions per week @ $85 per session = $1,360 Plus GST 

 

Package Number two does not include 

 

a meal plan or assisting with first time grocery shopping for your new diet 

I will however, provide you with a list of healthy foods and some ideas for your diet 

You can also share these sessions with friends and family but the sessions need to be used within the month. 

 

Sessions for both packages cannot be carried over to the following month

It is probably one of the most challenging experiences’ you will ever go through.  However, what it teaches you internally cannot be describe in words only in emotions and how proud you are of yourself.

 

The length in prepping for a competition will vary depending on where your body is at and what fitness show you are interested in competing?

 

The typical time it takes to get ready for a competition is between 24-12 weeks. However, this is only for those that haven’t competed in awhile or it is your first show. 

 

Competitions are expensive so be prepared to put money aside for this journey.

 Custom Competition Package:

- Personalize diet plan from the date that you start with me till the day of your competition

-4 days a week of training with me one on one (weight training)mixing it up with circuit training for cardio

-Recommended supplements and delicious recipes 

-Assist you with your first time grocery shopping for your competition diet

-Set you up with a  personal posing coach and a costume designer who will design your outfit for competition.

 

Optional: Competition day
